Formative evaluation and its use in music pedagogical practice at the first stage of elementary school

The diploma thesis deals with formative evaluation in music lessons at the first stage of elementary schools. The theoretical part defines the concept of evaluation of pupils at the first stage of elementary schools and various types of evaluation. Further deals with music psychology, musical abilities and skills. One chapter is devoted to the analysis of the Rámcový vzdělavací program základního vzděláván in terms of the required outcomes in music education. The theoretical part is concluded by the definition of formative evaluation and evaluation in music education. The practical part of the work consists of a questionnaire examining formative evaluation in music education at the first stage of elementary schools. The questionnaire finds out in what form the formative evaluation is performed and how often. Whether schools use it for evaluation in music education and how their formative evaluation corresponds to the outputs of the RVP ZV in music education. The cantata and oratorio works of Jan Hanuš: musical-historical context and pedagogical use

The thesis consciously builds on previous literature devoted to the life and work of Jan Hanuš, a significant 20th-century Czech composer. It focuses on his cantata and oratorio works, which form a distinctive part of the author's legacy. The thesis aims not only to study the defined area of interest from due theoretical perspectives, but also to intervene in relevant related practical fields: the field of artistic interpretation and the field of music pedagogy. The first, theoretically focused goal is to map the entire defined area of Hanuš's output in the context of musical and social development during the 20th century, in the context of related music by other Czech composers, and in the context of Hanuš's personal compositional development. The second goal is to bring one of the selected works, Poselství: svědectví o smrti Jana Palacha (The Legacy: A Testimony on the Death of Jan Palach) from 1969, to a world premiere in the symbolic and social context that the work deserves. The third goal is to create didactic material that uses the specifics of the studied area of Hanuš's work to bring the musical language of contemporary artificial music closer to today's students of general music education. Developing musicality through violin playing

The thesis is focused on the development of musicality in relation to playing the violin. It deals with development of musicality of children and students at elementary schools of arts. The aim of the historical part of the thesis is to describe the evolution of the violin and the bow. It outlines also the history of violin-making. The final chapter of the first part of the thesis is focused on history of the most important violin schools in Europe. The methodical part is focused on the playing the violin in terms of pedagogy and psychology. The introduction of the second part of the thesis deals with the diagnostics of musicality and preconditions for playing a music instrument. The sixth chapter describes education at elementary school of arts in relation to legislation and curricular documents applicable for the Czech republic. The aim of the last chapter is to analyse and compare different schools of violin playing for children and beginners which are commented and evaluated by the author of the thesis.
Developing creativity of pupil at the primary school through notation software

In today's fast changing world, global development of information and communication technology significantly affects many fields of human activity including music and education. As a result, questions concerning effective using of modern technology in musical education have become a major topic within the pedagogical community. Presented dissertation thesis examines utilization of notation software as a modern teaching tool. The software was specifically used to further improve musical creativity of pupils at secondary school (grades 6 to 9). The very first part of the thesis focuses on research framework, contemporary musical technologies, and available notation software tools. A special attention was drawn to MuseScore software that was used in the research. Last but not least, this part of the thesis outlines vital facts connected with musical creativity field of knowledge. Second part of the thesis is dedicated to author's research and starts with determination of project scope, goals, and basic working hypothesis. It analyzes her present pedagogic, scientific and publishing activities, her efforts in the field of integrative music education and her contribution to education of music teachers by publishing of methodological materials and organizing various courses and seminars. Improvisation as a musical-pedagogical discipline in the preparation of organists for the liturgical environment. MgA. Jan Steyer Abstract The dissertation solves the issue of organ improvisation in the liturgical environment in the Czech Republic and focusing mainly on the pedagogical aspect of the topic. The first part deals with theoretical problems. Improvisation is defined, classified and put into context of psychology and history. There is also a mapping of the position of organ improvisation in the liturgy on the basis of church regulations. The second part of the work is a research about the situation among church organists in the Czech Republic. Using the questionnaire, basic data on the researched group were obtained (age, gender, general and musical education, place of organ action and information about organ liturgical practice). In addition, the research analyzes the musical theoretical and practical playing skills of church organists. There is also a finding of educational requirements of research participants and description of their own experience with organ courses and various methodological procedures in teaching improvisation. Composers from Frenstat - echoes of the past in contemporary music education

This thesis discusses the history of music in the city of Frenstat pod Radhostem at the turn of the 18th and 19th century, especially regarding the pastoral compositions made by local composers. It presents their life and work and also presents a complex historical contexts. An educational material was developed as a part of this thesis, it could be used in education, as well as in leisure time sector. These materials also include sheet music for potential practical use. Moreover, an analysis, transcription and digitization of selected works are also introduced in this thesis.
The aims of music education with students with special educational needs

In accordance with the topic and title of the dissertation, we dedicate the first chapter of the theoretical part to terms related to the category of pedagogical aim, defining it from the perspective of general pedagogy, music pedagogy and special pedagogy. In the following chapters we continue with analyses of educational programmes, of the concept of aesthetic education, defining the terms "a student with special educational needs" and "a student with disabilities" with subchapters focusing on individual types of disabilities, which are then used in the research part of the work: Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), developmental learning disorders, impaired communication ability, mild mental retardation and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The sixth and final chapter of the first part presents a theoretical definition of aesthetic (music) education in the current educational system, taking into account the issue of musical education of students with special educational needs. The content of the dissertation work is the professional characteristics of a prominent Czech music educator Prof. PhDr. Eva Jenčková, CSc. It introduces the breadth of her scientific, pedagogical and musical organizational activities, and characterizes the main areas of her professional interest. It focuses on music education didactics at all levels of schooling, the enrichment of music repertoire including methodological arrangements, music for children in context of theoretical, interpretative, and music pedagogy aspects. It also outlines the optimal preparation of music education students and further education of music teachers, implemented in our country and abroad in a form of creative music workshops. One of the main subjects of her publications is movement in music education. Based on the content analysis of Eva Jenckova's complex music pedagogy work and the assessments of other education professionals, this publication presents the characteristics of her multi layered personality and her professional mastery.
